Fresh Meat

Bangor Roller Derby is looking for the next onslaught of fresh meat for the team!

Date : 4/28 @ 9am – 12pm

Location : University of Maine, Recreation Center

“meet and greet” a vet scrimmage, a skating assesment where they can borrow skates and show us what you’ve got.

You know practice will be hard. You know it will take a time commitment. You know it will hit your checkbook. Do you also know that you will be in amazing physical condition (probably the best of your adult life)? Do you know that you will develop a bond with your team that you have been missing for years? Do you know that you will be admired every single time someone sees you and says “she is a derby girl!” You get what you give. What are you willing to give?

If, for whatever reason, you feel that you can’t commit to being a player, keep in mind that we also need a lot of volunteers such as referees, non-skating officials, announcers, babysitters and countless other positions. Derby has a home for everyone. If you want to be part of this league, we will find a place for you.

If this interests you, spread the word and recruit! Derby is like any other sport in that it is more fun with more people. We rely heavily on word-of-mouth to get the info out there. Also, please “like” Bangor Derby (not Bangor Roller Derby) on facebook, follow Bangor Derby on twitter and check back here for updates

In the meantime, please feel free to contact DZ, Desi Clark, 2079513202, Clarkdesi5913@aol.com, or via Facebook

I attended the — at the University of Maine on Tuesday and was given a flyer for the event listed above. The flyer states the open call is from 8 to 10am where here it states 9 to noon. Which is correct?

    Thank you – Mary Ellen

I’m so excited about this! Do I just show up or do I need to sign up for tryouts? And are skates available or do I need to bring my own?
    So excited.
I look forward to hearing from you.
