Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed to kicking things off so spectacularly!
Response has been far better than anticipated… nah, we knew you were there really!
I wanted to put something up here real quick because -
A) As we make our way through the initial stages, there is only so much to put up, and it looks all dull and lifeless without some posts going out.
B) Response has been so overwhelming that I want to make sure that everyone is aware just how incredibly things are shaping up.
Basically, I want to make sure we have it out there that space is limited for skaters in our first newbie training class, and it looks like we’re going to be full in a hurry. As much as we would love to be able to meet the response, it isn’t going to be possible. At least, not right away.
Please make sure that you are on the ball if you are interested in joining. Don’t let it slip through your fingers!
Also, please do not let yourself be dissuaded by anything I just said. There are opportunities for everyone, and even if you don’t make it into the first training class, there is plenty you can do to be involved until the next one starts. Roller Derby owes its existence to volunteers, and to the dedication of many who are not circling the track right this second.
If you are interested in becoming a skater for Bangor Roller Derby, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com as soon as possible.
And again, there are numerous positions that we will need help with other than just skaters. Refs, scorekeepers, and a variety of other positions must be filled, and we need you.
Thanks again for all the incredible support.
Let’s do this thing!
